On the evening of January 22, 2004, Providence Speech and
Hearing Center in Orange, California inaugurated the remodeled
pre-school playground with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended
by the Providence board of directors, the Orange chamber of
commerce, donors, and other supporters. In recognition of
the large financial contribution made by Sparkling Angel Charities,
the Weaver family participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony
and, in fact, Katie Weaver was given the honor of holding
the ceremonial giant scissors.
The highlight of the evening was the announcement of the
offical name for the playground: "The Sparkling Angel
Charities Playground - in celebration of Kelly Weaver."
As part of the announcement, Mary Jo Hooper, executive director
of Providence, unveiled a beautiful tile mosaic on the main
wall of the playground containing the Sparkling Angel Charities
logo and a dedication to Kelly Weaver.
